The Tarleton School Leadership Alliance was established in 2001 to assist public schools in meeting their professional development needs in a cost-effective, convenient and high-quality way.

TSLA began by establishing one of the first online principal assessments approved by the Texas State Board of Educator Certification. The Tarleton Assessment of Principals (TAP) assesses 19 of the 21 skills from the National Policy Board of Education Administration (NPBEA) and we currently work with 15 Regional Education Service Centers and one of the nations largest school districts. TSLA now offers a second assessment, commonly called PASS. TSLA has assessed over 7300 principals to date.
